Top Left King Roland and Top Right Queen Connie.
King Roland and Queen Connie have been members of Komova since 2007 and were Duke and Duchess of Wherever in 2011 under the reign of Maria and Billy Kahrs. They were married May 1, 2010 and celebrated their wedding with cherished members of the krewe in attendance. Connie has one daughter Tammy Newman and two grandchildren while Roland has one daughter Letitia Drounett and one son Roland Drounett, Jr. and has 5 grandchildren and 3 step grandchildren.
King Roland graduated from Sulphur High in 1968 where he shortly thereafter joined the Marine Corp and graduated from Heavy Equipment School and served in Vietnam from 1969 through 1970 as a heavy equipment operator. He then opened his own seafood business and Karate school where he was a Blackbelt in Shotakan Karate and trained World Champions. While he was very active in sports himself he continued by coaching Hackberry Youth Organization and umpiring in Incrediball Tournaments. Now he just enjoys watching them.
Queen Connie graduated from Jennings High School in 1968 and Graduated from Southwest Vocational School in accounting and took early retirement in 2014. She was a komova board member from 2010 through 2015. She now represents the krewe as a member of the SWLA Mardi Gras Greencoats.
Connie and Roland love to travel and enjoy going to their camp at Toledo Bend.
They enjoy meeting all the new people that come into their lives being in the krewe and all the fun and charitable events they attend.
They feel blessed with a wonderful court Katie Jones, Duchess of Whenever, Ashlie and Mitchell Richard, Duke and Duchess of Whatever, and Brenda and Michael Primeaux, Duke and Duchess of Wherever.
